Changing Gearbox Oil
Notes on changing gear box oil in a PX 200.
Tools: rag, 11mm spanner, large flathead screwdriver (vice grips may be required as sometimes a screwdriver won't give enough leverage), container to catch oil, syringe or oil pump can with flexible nozzle (pictured below right - alternatively, a plastic tomato sauce bottle will do) and of course gear box oil
Place scooter on a level surface and place tray under oil sump plug. You may wish to start up and run the scooter engine for while in order to heat up the oil. This will assist with drainage.
Remove top screw plug. If this is tough you can use vice grips to either clamp on the screw and turn, or clamp on the screwdriver to give more leverage while pushing hard againt the end.
Remove sump plug and washer and let oil drain.
Before replacing sump plug, squirt in some fresh oil to flush out remaining old oil.
Replace sump plug and washer securely.
Top up with fresh oil until the oil starts to flow freely out of the top screw plug hole (200ml+).
