Motor Mounts

There are different ways of increasing rigidity in the swing arm. It should be noted though that improvements are subjective (what the rider thinks), to properly determine improvements in handling requires expensive measurement sensors that allow you to measure changes in how the wheels react in relation to the road (this is how race bikes tune their suspension).

There are also complicating factors due to the Vespa being built completely differently to a motorbike. A notable difference is the engine bolted to the rear wheel is a large unsprung mass, meaning it is harder to shift and reacts slower to changes in the road. This means that what applies to motorbikes may not directly apply to Vespas in the same way. Tyres play much more of a role in suspension and dampening (stopping oscilations) needs to be completely different. It is unsure of Vespa or other performance part manufacturers actually bother to take this into account.

Has anyone used these? How do they affect handling and vibration?

Hot Rod Scooters (HRS) Swing Arm Stabilizer

This is another design intended to address the problem of instability caused by excessive movement in the swing arm.

This is the description provided by the HRS website:

"Swing arm stabilizer for P200: The best handling modification you can add! It doesn't matter how good your shocks are, if your swing arm is twisting when you turn. If your rear wheel dose [sic] not track after the front wheel then the scooter will give you a wobble feedback. This is why many motorcycle riders say the scooters feel like a death trap.
